DHAKA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Winter is a magical time of the year marked by traditional festivals in Bangladesh. During this season people in capital Dhaka and elsewhere in the country eat varieties of "Pitha", traditional handmade winter cakes.
With a view to popularizing different traditional food, a Pitha festival is now underway on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (the national academy of fine and performing arts) in Dhaka.
Scores of seasonal Pitha makers are bustling with hundreds of customers in the festival.
