CHENGDU, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Railway authorities in southwest China's Sichuan Province have been revamping its slow train fleet recently, improving and diversifying the carriage environment to appeal to different customer groups.
One carriage is transformed into a "school carriage" to better serve the student passengers. Reading corners and school desks have been installed to facilitate reading and studying during the journey.
A livestock carriage has been created to host farm animals. Grooves and drainage are installed on the floor to get rid of animal excretion. Additional ventilation will ensure the air quality inside the carriage.
