BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Here are the latest Chinese sports headlines from the past week:
1. China bags 2 titles at Thailand Masters badminton tournament

Chinese badminton team bagged the women's singles and mixed doubles titles at the Thailand Masters which ended in Bangkok on February 5.
In the women's singles final, seventh seed Zhang Yiman outclassed teammate Han Yue 15-21, 21-13, 21-18 in an all-Chinese affair.
In the mixed doubles final, China's Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping came back from behind to beat Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung of South Korea 18-21, 21-15, 21-12. It was also a back-to-back victory for the Chinese pair after the Indonesian Masters.
2. Zhu Lin clinches first WTA tour singles title at Thailand Open

China's Zhu Lin won her first-ever WTA Tour singles title at the WTA 250 Thailand Open at Hua Hin, Thailand on February 5.
Zhu beat Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine 6-4, 6-4 in her first ever WTA Tour singles final appearance, which was another career breakthrough for the 29-year-old after she made it to the last 16 at the Australian Open last month.
The victory in Hua Hin also guarantees her to crack the top 50 for the first time.
3. China takes 2 gold medals at Short-Track Speed Skating World Cup

Chinese speed skaters showed good form on the last day of the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup in Dresden, Germany, winning gold medals in the men's 500m and men's 5,000m relay.
Lin Xiaojun took the men's 500m gold medal for China in 41.329 seconds. Another Chinese skater Zhong Yuchen finished second in 41.549.
The Chinese team of Li Wenlong, Lin Xiaojun, Liu Guanyi and Zhong Yuchen won the men's 5,000m relay in six minutes 51.106 seconds, ahead of Japan and Hungary.
4. China men's basketball team to play World Cup qualifiers in Hong Kong

China's national men's basketball team is gearing up for the sixth window of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers at Tsuen Wan Sports Center in Hong Kong.
Having already booked a spot at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup co-hosted by Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines, China will head into the last window by hosting Kazakhstan on February 23, before taking on Iran three days later.
The team is training in Shanghai under the guidance of head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic, who is poised for his first match in charge three months after assuming the role.
5. Zheng breezes past Kasatkina to reach WTA Abu Dhabi Open semis

Chinese rising star Zheng Qinwen swept the top seed and world No. 8 Daria Kasatkina of Russia 6-1, 6-2 in the WTA500 Abu Dhabi Open women's singles quarterfinals on February 10.
Zheng, 20, chalked up her third career Top 10 win, following her 2022 defeats of Ons Jabeur in Toronto and Paula Badosa in Tokyo.
Zheng will vie for her first singles final ticket this season with Russian player Liudmila Samsonova.
6. Chen Wenhao wins bronze in skeleton World Cup

Chinese skeleton athlete Chen Wenhao won his first World Cup medal in Innsbruck, Austria on February 10.
The 26-year-old Chen became the second Chinese to win a medal at the skeleton World Cup, following Geng Wenqiang's World Cup victory in November 2021 in Innsbruck. ■
