A cholera outbreak has been reported in another district in Zambia, bringing to two districts affected so far, a health official said on Monday.
LUSAKA, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- A cholera outbreak has been reported in another district in Zambia, bringing to two districts affected so far, a health official said on Monday.
Seven confirmed cases have been recorded in the Mwansabombwe district in Luapula Province with no deaths so far, Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo told a press briefing.

The district has been hit with a cholera outbreak since Jan. 26 and joins the Vubwi district in the eastern part of the country, she said, adding that the cumulative cases in the Vubwi district have now risen to 42 following six new cases recorded in the past 24 hours and the death toll remains at one.
According to her, health teams in the two districts have been activated while various programs aimed at containing the outbreak have been put in place. ■
